Alison Brown is one of roots music’s most celebrated hyphenates. She is a GRAMMY-winning musician, producer, composer, and co-founder of the Nashville-based Compass Records. She has received the Distinguished Achievement Award from the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) and the Louise Scruggs Memorial Forum honor from the Country Music Hall of Fame. She was the first woman to win an Instrumentalist of the Year award from the IBMA and is a member of American Banjo Hall of Fame. Alison also hosts SiriusXM Bluegrass Junction’s weekly program ‘Pick Like a Girl’ and ‘plays it forward’ through her ArtistWorks on-line banjo school. Alison is a frequent collaborator with actor/comedian/banjoist Steve Martin with whom she released the album Safe, Sensible and Sane. Their collaborations have generated multiple chart-topping singles and have garnered over 70M views on social media.
