    Summer Shakespeare: August Wilson’s Jitney
    Set in 1970 in the Hill District of Pittsburgh at a makeshift taxi company, Jitney is part of August Wilson’s decade by decade cycle of plays about the black American experience in the twentieth century.

    FREE General Admission ($10 Suggested Donation per Person). Bring a blanket or chair to sit on. Blankets can sit closest to the stage, bleachers provided in the rear. Blanket space is lmited, so arrive early for best availability.
    Food & beverages available on site, or bring your own picnic. Certain alcoholic beverages available at the Avo bar benefit Nashville Shakespeare Festival. No outside alcohol permitted.

    $100 Royal Package includes reserved seating, reserved parking, and a gourmet picnic dinner on the Terrace. A portion of the ticket is tax-deductible.
    $40 Noble Seating includes reserved seat only.

    5:30pm – Food vendors open & “Insight” featuring scholars from local universities in Sump Coffee.
    6:00pm – Pre-show entertainment featuring Nashville musicians and entertainers.
    7:00pm – Curtain

    The Nashville Shakespeare Festival is a professional theatre company founded in 1988. Heralded as a Nashville treasure, the NSF is beloved for its annual FREE Summer Shakespeare productions that have delighted audiences for 32 years. The Nashville Shakespeare Festival also operates year-round educational programs, and an annual indoor Winter Shakespeare production at the Troutt Theater on the Belmont University Campus.
