Theater Bug presents the world premiere of Overnight by Madison Medor.
Presented by Johnny BurrellÂ
Synopsis
Four best friends. One last middle school sleepover. A night filled with junk food, inside jokes, and the unshakable belief that nothing between them will ever change. Flash forward to high school and… everything has. Middle school memories crash into High School realities as all four of them wonder: How did best friends turn into strangers? This play explores the beauty and challenges of female friendship and the ways in which our own identities impact our experiences. Overnight includes some mature language and themes.Â
The Playground: Each year, The Theater Bug supports one young writer by providing them with the opportunity to develop a new play and see it produced live on stage at The Theater Bug. As the Theater Bug Playground Playwright, Huck received guidance and professional mentorship every step of the way through development, rewrites, casting, rehearsal, and production.
The play is produced by Theater Bug Managing Artistic Director Cori Anne Laemmel and Nate Eppler, Director of The Playground, who worked closely with the playwright to bring the play to life on stage.Â
